For the first time in university hospitals, the Specialized Medical Hospital is holding a specialized workshop to measure esophageal motility using the latest international technology (high-precision rigid catheterization).

In light of the hospital's commitment to supporting continuing medical education and providing the latest scientific findings in the field of diagnosing gastrointestinal diseases, the first university workshop to measure esophageal motility was held on Monday, April 7, 2025, using a high-precision rigid catheter, the latest technology in this field globally. During the workshop, three different esophageal motility diagnostic procedures were performed, in addition to a case using a smart capsule to measure gastrointestinal acidity via gastroscopy. These procedures represent a breakthrough in the accurate diagnosis of conditions such as:
- Chronic esophageal reflux
- Persistent heartburn
- Difficulty swallowing
- Unexplained abdominal pain
This technique is characterized by the fact that diagnosis takes less than 30 minutes, after which the patient can resume normal life without surgical intervention or hospitalization.
